Not looking good. I have a friend who just bought a 62 Ocean that's in Palm Beach Gardens. He was supposed to be bringing it north starting today but had to fly back home to NJ due to his son passing unexpectedly. Trying to find out if he has a plan for the storm as all this happened yesterday. May be looking for some leads for help securing or moving the boat.

At this point it's a crap shoot which way to run. And I would pretty much bet all the haul out facility's are booked up.

Pretty much the worst angle it can come for those of us in SE Fla. Guess I get to try out City Marina's fancy new cement floating docks....

"One should remember to not focus on the exact forecast
track, especially at the long range where the average NHC track
errors during the past 5 years are about 180 miles at day 4 and 240
miles at day 5."

Right from the 5pm advisory discussion today. Being cone center this far out is probably the safest place, plus they admit showing the forecast track left of the models. I'm not worried, yet......

I just left the new floaters in May and headed to Charleston. You have no protection out there but nice big poles to double lines on. Also they are really tall for storm surge. We have friends in the old North section there working the power outage at the plant. They are nervous to say the least. I would run to Ft. Myers for a couple days.

We have "joy". The latest models have it coming right up the middle of Fl.. It looks like we'll get to see what riding out a TS is like on the 10th floor. I have yet to be allowed to start the boat and put it in gear since the shaft seals seized. The insurance company requested that I wait for a surveyor to examine things.

Time to break out the extra lines and fenders...
