Or maybe a bunch of guys who are obsessed with their boats. You can run them and keep them looking good.

Not really, unless your putt putting around. Heat turns that nice white paint yellow in short order and your sucking in thousands of cfm of salt laden air that coats everything in the ER.
And Jack that "party" table should be banned on a SF

Mine are yellowed but the vents on this boat and the huge blowers do keep the heat down and the salt out. You'd be surprised how relatively cool it is down there when running. The table came with the boat. I run her like all my SF and that's usually around 1950rpm 22-23kts depending on load but I don't fish. I had a friend out with me this weekend. He was running the boat while I did an ER check. As I was coming out of the ER I hear the engines slow down. I asked him if he slowed her down and why. He said "You're burning too much fuel."

It is all in the prep work no matter what you are painting. Plan on spending three time longer than planned, two times the money than originally thought, and be prepared to be disappointed no matter how good of a job you intended to do. Try aluminum foil to cover tight wiring and hoses. Saves a lot of dismantling. Not ready for show time yet but my original 6-71 NA Detroit's (38 years new) are soon to be on the blog.

Got boarded by coasties on July 4th. Two things and maybe three made them just quickly write up the inspection slip and go look for someone that wasn't up to par. First up was all my bilges and especially my engine room was clean, oil free with sparkling white engines with no smoke. Second was the multiple and oversize extinguishers and third was that all life vests were either solas or type 1, along with some self inflatable types with well enough for a few more passengers than I had. Did the clean engines and engine space help? I'm pretty sure it did. It also didn't hurt that on my last survey for the insurance the surveyor wrote that the engines were virtually rust free. I'm sure any knowledgeable person looking at the survey for the insurance company would like to see that.

No idea about using for engine sweating, particularly, but I've had very good luck with ballistol to keep metal protected in damp environments. Smells terrible though.

I usually dilute it with distilled water to clean metal/leave a light protective layer.
