Just wondering if anybody found/has a good App that is like a chart plotter?
Was talking with a buddy at the marina over the holiday and we both figured there had to be one since there's pretty much a good app for everything.
Please let me know if you have a good one...we got a slight bet going....

This one is great. And it's free
Just load the NOAA maps and good to go

I ve tried a few but the one I ve been using for a couple of years or so is the garmin blue chart app.

Excellent charts, easy to use, build in active captain support, reliable. For those who go to the bahamas the charts are excellent and very precise. I have an iPad with build in GPS and it's as good as the marine plotters.

Only downside is that there is no heading line while underway, no big deal...

Friends are all using Garmin on their iPad with Active Captain. Pretty sure they have heading lines. I am not Apple guy, so still in the dark ages.

I use an app called iSailor and love it. I use it in conjunction with my Garmin as a comparison/backup. Its very functional and intuitive, and has great charts that are updated on a regular basis.

I have the Navionics app on my iPhone, and it works great. It makes a great backup and actually shows more detailed information than my dedicated Garmin chartplotter. Covers all inland and coastal waterways and most of the Bahamas. Works without cell service too. Cost is around $10.

Garmin BlueChart on my iPad is my go to. Ease of use, speed, accuracy and chart quality is hard to beat!
If it would drive the auto pilot I probably wouldn't have a chartplotter.

Polar Navy has just come out with one that is as good as the Garmin companion, has Active Captain, and has a heading line.

X2 on the Garmin Blue chart mobile. Mine doesnt have an anchor alarm though. I would like to have it as a back up to my polar navy program on the lap top. Drag queen is on the phone.

Great Thread! I downloaded the Garmin Bluechart app and been playing with it for past week for upcoming trip. I don't know how they could make it any easier to use. I ordered Wifi connector for my chart plotters and hope to have installed this week for added functionality of uploading routes and weather from the app.
