Hi all, putting an offer in on a boat in the bay area...anyone have a good surveyor in the area that they can reccomend?
Boat is in the east bay.
Thanks
Paul

Brendon Schmidt is the best when buying. Don't use him if selling. He's tough.

Thanks Rusty.

What did you find?

Agree with Rusty; Brendon is thorough.

If you need one for insurance purposes after the purchase, consider Jack MacKinnon although he is getting pretty close to retirement.

There are a few to avoid, if you want to get an opinion via PM.

Also, to follow up to Jack's question, what boat are you looking at?

DAN

Thanks guys.

Looking at the 52 C in alameda. I will look up Brendon's number if we can get together on the deal.

Lisa and I have worked with a number a surveyors... Brendan gets high marks, but I also recommend Randy Sharp. He's very good. I like both of their reporting styles, and especially find Randy's really helpful when attacking a big boat project.

Pretty clean, bright white boat.

Room to move the price down.

Was used some in the delta I think, since I saw it at Tower Park getting canvas around 2010 or so.

Brendon Schmidt is the toughest one for sellers and best for buyers. Where is the boat located? Brendon is located in the Delta. Rusty

Clipper Cove anchor out and raft up at Treasure island anyone? Probably doing Tinsley this Summer- reservations should be put in now if you have a StFYC pal

Brendan has surveyed every boat we have purchased as well as the ones we walked away from thanks to his thorough inspection.

Chuck....we don't have any connections at Tinsley but we are members of Delta Yacht Club and we as at the island many weekends starting in April. Let us know when you are up. It's just a dinghy ride away.

We have talked about having a rendezvous for years, so I think if you guys can muster the enthusiasm we can start small. Drinks are on Ann and Jerry! Rusty, I owe you a phone call since I just got back into town.

DAN

By the way, Nor'easter, if you come to town feel free to call and have a cocktail.

I have known for years that you had your eye out for a 52C and when I bought mine in San Diego I was hoping you would not spot it first!

Paul, if you can't find a surveyor you like in the bay area, Bunker Hill will travel. He's the BEST.
PM me for his number.

Thanks all. No deal so far.
Thx

Randy Sharpe does a good job. Very objective and thorough. He's done both my boat and my sons 43 DC. My surveyor of choice hands down.
