I am considering relocating my March a/c Seawater pump to my engine room (diesels) from its current location in another bilge. Are there any concerns in having the pump located in the engine room? ie Ignition, Heat etc. The new location will still provide the correct level as it is not self priming.

Thanks
John

No problems at all. Both of my ac seawater pumps are in the engine room, always have been. I'm not sure which model you own, but I have the 58 yachtfisher and it is fine.

The biggest concern is wire size and length to the power source. Next is the lift to the highest point and it's path. Last would be the source water. There's no reason the pump can't be in the engine room if the other concerns are met.

Scott is always correct. I have a 52c my AC punp is in the bilge. ( works grate because i bought it from George) As well as the fresh watter pump. But the DC fresh water is under the steps going to the state rooms. Been working fine except for the noise of the DC pump. It only comes on as a stand by so i just cut it off.
