Great, another project! Actually, I was going to do this myself as well. Now to find the time to do this...

News brake for those interested

GOT EMAI FROM AMAZON ONE DAY SELL ON DYSON 9/22 ONLY

For those interested, Bed Bath & Beyond had the DC59 Motorhead at $100 off so $549 -> $449 and with a 20% off store coupon it came to $359.

Hey, THAT"S a good deal!

I had to chuckle at so many of us manly men getting all giddy over a vacuum. :p

"Manly men" would take an even bigger hit if I suggested the obvious way to keep the heads (the toilet and the compartment) much cleaner... ;)

Not true. Obvious answer: pee outside.

Your likely answer: sit down to pee.

I have a robot for the house. One mops with water. Other vacuums. I hate carpet (allergies).

I try to think of it as another power tool.

Can't argue with the concept of peeing outside but I fear my fellow marina dwellers would frown upon the view in more ways than one! I have a friend with a cabin in the woods and, to save water, all males are encouraged to pee off the deck as opposed to using the toilet; he also points out that it keeps the bathroom a lot cleaner!

Concur re carpet - we've gotten rid of most of it in our house/boat. Robots would be nice but hey, I saw "I Robot," so I know what can happen when they go wrong! :)

I know what you mean! Snap-On doesn't make sewing machines, so I've been looking at the Sailrite Ultrafeed...but maybe the Big-N-Tall is the way to go.

I now own 2 of these. They work great.

I bought the cordless one about 6 weeks ago. Best vac I've ever had. I can't believe I spent that kind of money on a vac, but I borrowed my neighbor's and was convinced very quickly. No regrets.

I am still a victim of the mental ailment that makes a hand held vacuum for hundreds of dollar seem reasonable for the boat, while I would not even consider such a purchase for the house. Ordered one last night after reading this thread and doing a little internet education on the subject. Impulse boat stuff buying got me again.

You can only use one at a time. How about selling me the newer one :)

Problem: I bought the first one for the boat and then made the HUGE mistake of taking it home for the Winter only to find that I can't do without it there. It's probably only a matter of time before I get one more for the office. I got the second one off QVC for less $$ that the first one and with more attachments.

Costco has the cordless one, now, for $364. I just saw it there on Sunday. They didn't carry it when I bought mine for just about $20 more.
