  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
37' CONVERTIBLE (1977 - 1982)
Teen age daughter had a birthday overnight on the 37C last night. Everything worked. This morning no water pressure.
Pump no longer accessible now that I gained 25lbs. Think it has power. Raz rebuilt @ $450. What would be an equivalent to a gallymaid water pump. Need A back-up plan in case I cant fix it.

Thanks
Hal

First check power at the pump and pressure switch. If you have power at the pump pull it off and take it to a started repair shop. Had mine rebuilt a few years back, can't recall exactly how much it was but I believe it was under $100.

Concur with Chris - it's basically an old starter motor with a pump (or two) attached. Everything about that unit is rebuildable if that is what's required. But, as Chris suggested, there's a really good chance it's something related to the elec supply/pressure switch itself, not the pump. However, although GM pumps are pretty good at passing a lot of stuff that modern heads won't, with a party on board, who knows what may have been flushed. Something may have jammed the pump, causing the motor to pop the breaker.

I know its early in the am. I thought Hal was talking about his fresh water pump. I dont understand how flushing something down the head can cause it to stop pumping water. Am I missing something?

"Am I missing something?"

No; I am! You are right - It was a FW pump, not a head pump so there is nothing to clog the FW pump. Guess I should have had coffee BEFORE trying to think/comprehend that early!

Check to see if there is water in the tank. If it ran out the low pressure function of the pump switch should have shut it off to prevent damage. Reset is the little handle on the side of the pressure switch.
