Best time for a Bahamas trip

Back in 2008 the day after Thanksgiving we had light North winds. No issue. Billiard table smooth all the way across.
We use FNMOC, Windfinder and WxWorx to check the wave height predictions and we normally add a foot to them

It never fails! I'm going from St. Lucie across the top Of Abaco Thursday afternoon, just in time for winds to start kicking up..... Brett

We normally cross from Stuart too but our last crossing (April) I decided to putt down to Palm Beach then cross to West End. We cleared there, fueled plus a goombay then ran Indian Cay channel up to Grand. The Admiral LOVED it! The seas are a good 1.5' smaller down there and two shorter beatings vs. a long one was a real hit. Sure it added several hours to the day but we'll worth it. As for the best crossing months I have say June/July, yes it's warmer but so is the water and usually happier ocean conditions.

Goombay Smash is a rum based beverage in the Bahamas.[1] It is traditionally served in a sling or collins glass. The Goombay Smash was created by Miss Emily at the Blue Bee Bar in New Plymouth. The original recipe is a secret, but it is believed to have contained coconut rum, dirty rum, apricot brandy, and pineapple juice.[1] Imitators and variations commonly use rum, coconut and pineapple juice.[1] Apricot liqueur is sometimes used and dark, amber or spiced rums (dirty rums) are preferred. In place of coconut rum, coconut cream can be used. Other variations include Creme de Banana, orange juice and grenadine.[1]

Helps take the edge off an hours long salt-crusted 5' head sea beating.

Looks like Wed and Thurs next weeks passage weather says its going to be <1 foot. Thats perfect for me. I have a little more work cleaning up and doing some spot painting here and there. I might go directly from Stuart to the west end. I was thinking about going down to Lake worth and shooting across if it was going to be questionably rough (less time in the stream).

Pate depending on how many Goombays you have, everything is good and then you fall asleep.

Jody was always the Admiral but the doggies too liked the split crossing. Headed back over in a month or so again for some fun, hope to see y'all. You probably heard Big Grand is up for auction the 14th (hope it sells!) and they lowered the price of Walker's to $19M ( definitely won't sell).
