  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' YACHT FISHERMAN (1970 - 1981)
In my almost daily online search for constant justification for spending what I did on my boat, and reaffirming that I didn't pay too much, I came across these Hatt's listed on Yachtauctions.com.

Ok, I'm a bit obsessive about finding out what's available and it's condition. Again comparing it to the only thing I can, my boat (and I don't think I'm alone in this way of thinking....). Some of these look pretty nice, I'm surprised to see so many on an "auction" site, somewhat depressing.

I can't believe none of these boats have trailers. It says so right in the listings. I guess they sold them off separately.

I haven't been aboard any of these but I do know of others have looked at 3 of the boats listed. All three were reported to be very tired and in need of major work. Many of their listings look much better on the Internet than in person.

ALL of their boats are nasty. Occasionally you get lucky with something only a couple of years old, but that's it! Remember, Repos usually have at least 2-3 years of total neglect before National Liquidators gets them. They aren't in the business of fixing them up either.

They all have issues.. I looked at a coup;e of them 2 years ago good stuff was riped out .

However i have a friend who purchased a sea ceaft with outboards twin verados and 36 foot for less 40000 a 2009 he got a deal. No trailor..

Tim....You know you got a great deal, no justification needed!!!! Now--- what you need to do is get Brooks & family down to TCI and see which 52' raises/catches the most. That will be the the ultimate justification.

sent u a tex message old man!!!

From this it looks like I got my repo at a fair price, with that said it only took another 25,000 to get her in a marketable condition & a ton of non-compensated hours . Today I have no idea what my boat is worth, Warren buffet says if you want to know what something is worth , SELL IT ! then you'll know.

Are you referring to the Ocean 48?
