USA has lost a national treasure...

Sad to report that Astronaut Neil Armstrong died at the age of 82. Very sad. Armstrong was my hero. I'll ring three bells this evening at sunset in his honor.

I agree Mario. His landing on the Moon in July, 1969 was the real highlight of my return from Vietnam. Never felt so proud of our country. My son is now assigned at Edwards where Armstrong did his initial testing and his presence is still recognized there. These guys were real pioneers who knew how to get it done.

I remember looking up at the moon that night from my bedroom window and thinking "There are PEOPLE up there!" Neil Armstrong, the rest of the astronaut corps, and the whole NASA team exemplified the best of the United States.

I only hope we haven't completely lost that.
