I have not, but I've removed one in the aft salon. Still have it, AC to dc transformer ad all.

Yes. I will get a photo and post it here for you.

Thanks for your replies - trying to convince my Captain that it would be perfect over the dinette - can't wait to see your photo -- what size fan did you use - I thought 36" - he says too big - so curious what you found and how difficult it was and costly to do it - he thinks we'd have to replace the headliner in there.

We are relocating to FL and I just think it would be perfect

Thanks and TopHatandTails - why did you remove it - was in master stateroom?

Thanks again

I see you are show Kent Island and FLL

We are liveaboards and are driving down in December to look at affordable marinas in the area --
We really like what Loggerhead in Stuart seems to offer - are you familiar with Stuart - is it a nice area?

Thanks

The fan was in the aft salon (above the master stateroom). I'm 6'7" and it was going to be certain death at some point! It was a pretty small fan - maybe not more than 12"-18". I've seen a few of them in the 56 and 58MY's - where it makes more sense.

I've had a ceiling fan in the galley of our 41 DCMY for many years. If your air conditioner's air circulation is poor its a big help. We are in Florida also. I've recently relocated the A/C evaporator and vents and upgraded the system. I've removed the fan in hopes I no longer need it. I used a Hunter Original that was probably 26 inches in diameter. I'm sure you can't get them any more. You may not need to replace the headliner to install the fan, but you will need to remove, then replace, the section where the fan is located. I used bungee cords when underway to keep the fan from swinging too wildly.

Jan,

There are a couple of other Hatts at Loggerhead Stuart including ron6787? I'm just around the corner on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. We like the Stuart area, and if you do not have a car, Sunset Harbor would be even more convenient. Feel free to PM me if you want to get more information.

Here's the photo of the ceiling fan in a 53 Classic MY. I'm really not at all familiar with the marinas in Stuart. Sorry.
