  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' LRC (1975 - 1981)
After all that happened yesterday morning, this was how we were greeted coming home last night.
Great example of why I LOVE cruising at night!

Nice. Also why we personally like cruising at sunrise and anchoring before sunset so we can enjoy one underway and the other while relaxed and with the proper libation....

Exactly our plan for Thanksgiving day this year as we head up to Ocracoke. Nothing like having the turkey cooking in the galley while cruising along. Would go Wednesday but it's forecast to be an ugly day.

I take it you had some of the same gorgeous weather we did here in NC this weekend?

And another nice reason for being full time liveaboards....wake up every morning to water and go to sleep to motion of water...
One year for Thanksgiving the family met at the dock, I had deep fried 2 turkeys, they all brought the sides and we had a full bown dinner while cruising on the St Johns River with xmas music playing and the boat all decorated .......
(and of course the NFL game on tv !)

Last two Thanksgivings anchored out in Silverlake Harbor, Ocracoke.

I think this was my favorite, anchored out in Walburg Creek, Georgia. Ann cooked everything from scratch on board, as she does every year.

George, hope your thanksgiving looks as good this year. By the way, that's a great picture of Ann. Wish we were going out there with you!!!!

Looks like it will be a no go on Ocracoke this year. Very disappointed. Weather and/or seas bad the next two days. Pamlico sound in gale force winds and the nastiest 3 foot shop there is quartering you (at best) is not Pleasure Boating. Sure wish it was all moved back a day or up two days as today or Friday would have been ideal. We weathered a wicked storm 40+ in Silverlake on Thanksgiving night two years ago, not fun but holding is good; seas piled in through the entrance and made it interesting. So, off to Cape Lookout Friday morning as a consolation prize! Well on the bright side it saves about $600 in fuel! But I'd rather be boating to and hanging out up there than have 600 bucks...

$600 in fuel to Ocacoke from Moorehead city? George have you been firing up those 8/92s again?
Sorry about the weather, its truely bad up here in Philly. Hope you have fun anyway. See ya soon.

Well, it's about 60 NM or so each way, plus three or four days of fairly heavy genset use, especially during the TG cooking and clean up processes and the overnight temps in the low 40's... and, I'm rationalizing!

Three days at CLB are not a bad consolation prize.

If all fails you can come over to the Harkers Island house and eat on the dock with the rest of my friends and be very welcom . AT NO CHARGE WE will be cooking a a old nasty hog. I will be passing by on my skiff going trout fishing at the rock jetty or billeys hill . If you see my skiff go by the name on the side is SEADOTS give us a wave should you have any left overs Tim Have a happy thanksgiving at the cape
