Have a pair of 330Bs and remember someone saying to use valvoline blue for oil. Is this a straight 40wt oil? Also noticed a steady drip on the stb seawater pump, looks like a new gasket is needed. Do these need to be torked to a specific ft lbs or just tight? Maybe a new tool is in my future.

How many hours are on your engines?

I have used nothing but Rotella T 15w40 since new..also same oil in ZF220A trannies. No problems. Its one of the ost common types used. The weight used depends on the severity of your climate, but most often 15w40 is good for these engine.

As far as the seawater pump if you have the original pumps they are known for leaking and if you frequent boatdiesel.com you're familiar with all the failure stories. I'm replacing with sbmar.com's seamx punps as soon as I can come up with the cash (laid off).

I use Rotella also and wally world carries it. The junk Sherwood raw water pumps will be a thorn in your side until they are swapped out with Seamax pumps. When the Sherwoods start to leak even a weep they will fail soon after, possibly breaking the shaft allowing your pump drive gear to roam freely inside your engine. Fix that pump ASAP. I have resealed mine with moderate success but your best bet is to get rid of them.

Thanks Jackman, I'll join boatdiesel today. Engines have 1350 hrs on them, got them with1290 but just brought the boat up from Fla. to N.C. I was going to say a warm climate until I got up this morning and thought I'd been transported back to yankeeland, damn it's cold! Anyway I'll go to boatdiesel and see what's up with these Sherwood pumps.

I see you use 15-40W in your zf 220A I have the same setup and the zf 220a use a straight 30W.

Inquiry: I have the 6-71's with I believe Jabsco Raw/Sea Water pumps. They are free-standing (not attached to the engine) and front mounted on an engine bed and run by double belts from the engine flywheel pulley.

Would Jabsco have a pump that is applicable to this above application?
