Fuel Tanks - Free!

I've mentioned this before in other threads, but I have 2 150 gallon fiberglass tanks remove from our 1968 38' DCMY. If someone wants them, they can have them for free. They are relatively clean and were removed when it seemed like ethanol was going to become a problem. They never held ethanol in the percentages that seem to cause problems. They are too nice to just throw away. Of course, transportation of these tanks would be on you.

I am interested depending on where you are located. My 36C only has 120 gallon tanks and the extra 60 gallons would be a great help.

i have the same problem, just can't bring myself to cut them up. they are sitting in my garage. maybe giant planting pots or cut them in half lengthwise and make little row boats .

reality is I have no where to put one in the boat.

These tanks do not address your problem as they are (presumably) vulnerable to ethanol also. I just yanked them out before they had any in them.

As an update: I did go up and pick these tanks up. I installed them myself. The rest of the story:
I wound up having to replace both engines due to the damage of the ethanol. Thankfully, they failed one year apart. Ethanol was the cause of my problems. DO NOT USE IT. Actually CONGRESS IS the cause of my problem. DO NOT USE THEM...Now they are increasing ethanol to 15%! They know that this is causing engines from lawn mowers to Boat engines to blow up, catch fire or just fail. They are scumbags. ps How do I know it was the ethanol... My mechanic knows engines. We thought it was just the first engine that failed. The second engine failed more catastrophically. Don't take a chance. Tell your congressman that ethanol is BAD. My lawnmower guy has a sign that says: If you use ethanol do not come in. We will not work on your engine.

That's truly a bummer. Wouldn't want to do that replacement job twice. I thought you said you had access to ethanol free gas? Apparently that changed. By the way, link to the document detailing the removal and replacement is no longer valid. Here's a link to it on Google Docs.
