Looking for a marina in or around the Hilton Head or Beaufort, SC area to leave my boat for a month or so that would offer some hurricane protection. Shelter Cove on Hilton Head is pretty far up the creek and I think Windmill Cove has a lock. Any thoughts on those. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

How bout Jarrett bay?

JB is a long long way away. Dataw Island Marina near Beaufort is very protected and may even have a haulout big enough for your boat.. which one do you have? It's a pleasant setting too.
Another good place to consider is Savannah in Thunderbolt. A number of yards there for any size boat.

I have a 54 Viking MY. I don't know of a Jarrett Bay facility in SC. Thank you both for the responses.

Sorry I got the NC/SC thing confused. How are yall George?

JB does not have a SC facility. The closest equivalent there is Thunderbolt Marine in Savannah, which does a lot of big mega yachts and is like JB on steroids. I have had some work done there and they are excellent and stand behind that work like no one I have ever seen. Hinkley also has a very well respected yard there that I have heard nothing but good things about, but no direct experience. Likewise, I have no experience with any marinas/yards on Hilton Head. I personally think you need to be at a place where you can pull the boat and secure it properly up above the surge. Since I am in NC this season, I have a contract with JB to do just that.

One thing to note is that whole GA/SC area is less prone to hurricanes because of the way it is positioned on the coast.

Hi Robby, we are doing just fine. When you buyin' a boat, boy?
