  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series I (1964 - 1971)
I've noticed several times in my travels here how "the most users online" always grows, and has a recent date associated with it. So here it is, 10:40 on a weeknight, and here's our stats:

21 members and 19 guests
Most users ever online was 63, Today at 11:46 AM

My, how the forum has grown.....

To Sam's and the moderators, please take a moment to reflect on the ongoing success of the forum, and accept (and I think I speak for most here) our sincere appreciation for this wonderful resource.

Thank you!

Yeah, three cheers for Sam's for hosting this (our old Hatt) forum. And a thanks to the moderators for spending their valuable time to help.
When I joined (not very long ago) it seemed I knew most of the members by screen name, and figured out who was who in a short time. Now there are so many more members, it's not so easy to keep the personalities straight.
What that means is success for Sam's. I hope enough sales are generated to make it worth their efort. I've done my part (bought my parts from Sam's). It would be great if everyone else showed their appreciation the same way.....with their wallet.

Everytime I've called Sams for something I'm ALWAYS treated as a long time friend instead of just "a customer".

Just like here on this site, everyone here, with maybe one or two exceptions lately keep things up to the Hatt. level of sharing information and knowledge on our boats.

Hey Steve & Doug,

My hat's off to you! (quite literally, one of the Hatteras hats I bought from you blew off while riding my Wave Raider last Sunday, send me another one, will ya'? :D That one sunk before I could retrieve it!!!)

Sure do hope I'm not one of those "exceptions" referenced above! If I am, I guess that's okay too. Everybody is entitled to their opinions, and you just can't make some folks happy.

Meanwhile, keep up the good work. I too have benefitted from the use of your site, and I appreciate the assistance I have received from you in the past.

Hey, check out the thread where the fellow asked about cable length on his Hatt. I made a sale for you!

Sincerely,

Your red-headed stepchild :D

hat(t)s off to the members... it's the members who make a forum what it is, more than anything else. We are lucky to have a pool of knowlegeable owners and enthusiasts willing to share their knowledge and experience. that's what it's all coming down to....

Thanks Pascal, Sam's and the other moderators. This site is a must read for any boater, including us "Hatt-wannabes"! Thanks for letting us participate.

The book of Karl, and all the other threads posted by you knowledgeable Capt's has been invaluable to me. A hearty thanks to you guys, and Sam's.

Shure get to say,"why didn't I think of that" alot when reading the comments on a problem or any subject for that matter. Karl is a great source of info, even his piece on replacing our national income tax with a sales tax. That made too much sense, which is why it can't happen, but that piece was an eye opener. I used that example because, even though it wasn't Hatteras related, it was great. Our moderators do a great job of stepping on toes when needed and Sam's is a super sponsor. If we all share our stuff and keep this site going I think we can keep these boats going longer than the Doctors can keep us going. Hey maybe if we elect someone like Mit Romney next time Karl's Income tax idea will get a chance.

Like you said "that would make too much sense, so it will never happen"!

Did anyone else notice that the most ever members online occurred at 14 minutes before the new year. Doesn't anybody celebrate anymore? Maybe the HOF is just more important.

My thanks to Sams once again for keeping this thing going.

ditto the above replies, i have to visit at least once a day, or i get the shakes......bigbill

Another amazing stat! Everybody who has replied to this thread joined in 2005 or 2006!

Ok, not that amazing...

My thanks to SAM'S for this wonderful forum...

I must agree with all the above. Its a great forum and great group of people. I remember when long ago before it was in this format there were only a handful of members and everyone knew each other. Thanks to Sam's, we finally have enough people that with all the combined knowledge of the group. We are able to buy, fix, repair or replace any part on our great boats. Long live Sam's and Hatteras boat's.

A lot of us still know each other, and I for one have made many personal friendships as the result of this forum. No doubt I've learned a lot by being a part of the brotherhood of the Hatt.

As for thanking people, I'd like to thank Doug Langley, Steve McPherson, and Pascal... for not moving this thread to the Sand Bar. :D

I certainly have learned much valuable and useful technical information and also enjoy the opinions in the sandbox. It's a pleasure to get to know all you members of the forum, and to hear what/how you think about our great yachts and other topics as well. Thanks to Sams and all who help to make this possible.

Best Regards, Bob K

Ditto on all the above comments. A great forum.

This forum has been a wonderful learning experience and opportunity to share what I know with others. I too have used Sam's for parts. I even blew over $200 a few years ago so I could get an exact replacement for the original battery parallel switch...darn thing probably weighs 12 lbs....but what an opportunity to have an original top quality replacement part.

Even though I sold my YF almost a year ago, I follow most threads, and copy the new owner, who lives aboard, with information I did not share with him....like the aformosa refinishing thread recently which had a lot of good insights.

Bravo.

It's comforting to know you can still get parts for "this old boat" on good old Sam's. What a great site, great members. I read it everyday.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback. It let's us know we are still on track. As Pascal said, it's the members who make a forum what it is, more than anything else.

Thanks to everyone who continues to contribute and share to make our little forum what it has become and what it was intended to be.

And, after last nite debacle...SAMS FOR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!
