Update...
One of Jack Sardina's (Saltshaker) friends was on the boat to troubleshoot. Ballast in an engineroom 110 volt flourescent fixture went bad. No problems with the GFIs. Great news!
Good News! It looks like my port side batteries (house bank & starting) may live another day even though they are dead.
Bad news...battery charger went on the fritz and was not charging batteries. Today, I ordered a Charles 9000 32 volt 40 amp charger from Consumer Marine for $959.99, that's $30 less than West Marine can buy them from Charles for. Don't ask me how they can sell it for a loss. Consumer Marine is still in business, but is just located in North Carolina now, no Wall, NJ location. Unfortunately, because they were a business operating in NJ during 2009, they still collected sales tax of 7%. No charge for shipping.
Newmar no longer makes a 32 volt charger larger than 25 amps. Dometic/Sentry is the current charger that went on the fritz and wasn't really that happy with it. Very loud when charging. I've had Charles chargers before and were very happy.
As mentioned in other threads, 32 volt chargers are limited. Only one "Smart Charger" on market was more than 75% more.
