A few days ago Obama is doing one of his Health care town hall's and says his plan is endorsed by AARP. Turns out it's not. A day or so later he's doing another town hall and takes a question from an 11 year old girl. They have this nice little exchange and BO gets to make some points. Turns out the girl is the daughter to a woman that ran a local campaign for BO obviously a set up. So today I'm watching another meeting at one point he explains why a public option is good. He says because it doesn't have to turn a profit it should be able to offer a better deal than private sector insurance. A little while later he addresses the concern about private insurers being un able to compete with a public option and eventually wiping them out making the Government program the only option in other words socialized medicine. He said that as long as the public option is self sustaining and not using tax payer dollars to survive then there's no reason the private sector can't compete. First if the government option is not self sustaining what's he going to do get rid of it? No they're going to do what they always do tap the tax till and keep it going. Second how the hell is a private insurance co. going to compete with a government run co. that doesn't need to turn a profit?


Then he said that two thirds of the start up cost will be paid be eliminating waste. (Makes you wonder why they haven't already eliminated it) The remaining third will be paid by an increased tax on those earning over 250K or by limiting the tax deduction on charitable donations for those earning over 250K. Well those #s don't add up it's some sort of magic math. And that's based on 07 08 tax revenues for 09 the tax revenue will be much lower and the # of people earning over 250K will be much lower also.

This administration keeps right on serving up the BS and a surprising number of un informed people keep swallowing it. Really makes you wonder?

I'd love to see what those numbers will be. How can the gov be working off of 07 08 #'s without making some realistic adjustments? If things keep heading down this dangerous road, we're going to start talking about zillion dollar budget gaps. No individual or government can spend their way out of debt and the ones paying the tax bills are going to be fewer and fewer. When the bills come in it won't be just those making over 250K who will have to pay. Everyone with a job is going to have to pay. As always, those with no income will be just fine.

Some mid year preliminary #s were released Personal's down 20-30% Corporate down 57%. It's mind numbing how this administration ignores this it's as if they don't care. I guess they think after this stuff is in place it would be almost impossible to remove so just TAX TAX TAX make us all into dependants.

well how bout the emails that are coming from the white house unsolicited....Where did they get the email addresses to start with......this should definitely be a concern for anyone who wants his or her privacy..Check out the discussion Major Garrett had with Gibbs in the press conference. An the Acorn and Sieu people who were bussed into Spector's town hall and got tickets to ask questions when the locals couldn't...Another way of keeping people from being heard.

I know my income will be way down this year. We've had to change things and delay some major purchases based on our current situation. If I spent like our gov. I could have a nice new Hatt, build my new house and maybe throw in a new car or two. Instead I choose to pay the bills and live within my means. Of course I will be spending some cash getting the boat fixed so I can later spend some more cash on fuel, before the season ends.

Just keep in mind the "Redistribution of the Wealth" campaign promise. Let's see. You increase spending big time, have to raise everyone's tax despite your best effort, so everyone gets a 25% tax increase to support all these new government services, so everyone gets forced services whether you want them or not, and the majority of folks in the US, that pay $0 taxes, get the increase along with the rest of us. Let's see, 0 x 1.25 = ? Yes, it is happening right before your eyes.

What's been going one since this administration came into power is a good example of the complacency of the American public. First you had TARP which was an enormous expenditure to prop up banks and financial institutions. I'll admit that it a least arguable weather or not it should have been so I'll give them the benefit of a doubt on that. Then you had the stimulus another enormous expenditure loaded with pork and give away's to special interests and there's not much opposition at all. Then the Omnibus bill again loaded with pork and waste and there's not much opposition. Then Cap and Trade which will probably come to be in some form without much opposition.

Health care is the first thing that slams into enormous opposition. I think the only reason for that is that it's the first thing that comes right into everyone's living room. The possibility that private insurers could be destroyed leaving the Government option as the only choice scares people and it should. But the idea that it takes something this extreme to get people fired up is really sad.

We really do get the government we deserve.
