  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I knew our decks were getting ugly, but didn't know how bad until I spent alot of elbow grease, scraping, sanding etc. to get rid of the Cetol.

Looks great! what a classy looking Hatt.

Thanx for the compliment. She's a good old girl and needs our attention so that the dogs are happy!

Nice job... youre lucky "BRUISER" helped you to put the stain on ;-)) ws

Cetol is a tool of the devil. Still need to get it off our railings!

Ya Mike, My railings are next after the boat deck! Lots of fresh sandpaper in 60 or 80 grit seems to be the answer. It sure is annoying but the end results are satisfying.

Absolutely beautiful.... The teak also....

Actually nothing looks quite so good on a proper yacht's deck as real teak decks and your's is an excellent example. It's a pity that it requires so much maintainance but than again what can we possibly do with all of our spare time if our boats didn't use it up.

I really like teak decks. They aren't slippery, they look great, and they don't show the dirt as bad as our white non skid. Great job. Keep the pics coming.

Please don't praise teak decks so much Sky. I'm afraid it may induce me into another big project. I still have a couple of thousand square feet of teak in my storage facility and I find myself thinking about it. Must resist...must residt

Every time I see a picture of your boat I am in awe. The teak looks fantastic.

I agree..nothing looks as good as a well maintained teak deck. I'd LOVE to have them...but if I were to install teak decks...they would be glued down, NOT glued and screwed...that is just begging for problems later. Many high end manufacturers are now gluing down teak decks rather than gluing AND screwing...makes perfect sense to me.
