I just want to update this thread and let everyone know how this continues to play out. We had problem after problem and were EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE in getting our system correct. They sent their "production mgr" to go through our system where they found several "unexplainable" install flaws. All (3) 9k compressors were replaced, one of the marine-aire control panels chit the bed so they upgraded that (that panel appears to have a failing LCD, it flickers). Two days ago the salon unit shuts down by tripping the breaker with a "high pressure" message. Flow in/out is GREAT, filter is clean, still trips breaker. Oceanbreeze crew arrived 24 hours later, "the unit was overcharged, it had too much freon". SUPPOSEDLY nothing has been done with this unit since initial install, can an "overcharged" unit go 11 months before it trips the breaker due to high pressure? I'm more concerned with the month of warranty I have if that compressor TRULY went 11 months "overcharged".

At least you got some responses

Might be a good time to update the thread. Having been in Palm Coast for the last 8 months, the units got very little use the first 5 due to unwanted cold weather. They were just put back into full time commission and have kept the boat comfortable during the day and EXCELLENT sleeping at night. Despite regular bromine use in the strainer, the extended time unused caused some blockages the shop vac made short order of. I assure you if they do need anything that I can't do I WILL NOT call Oceanbreeze. Maybe a couple years has changed things, anyone have recent experience?

You need to find a good responsive local tech. Most issues can be repaired with generic parts like compressors etc.

We re struggling with growth in miami at this of the years. Starting may, I have to back flush my chillers every 2 to 3 weeks. I have rigged valves to make it as painless as possible.

We had a nightmare with MarinAire in Ft Lauderdale on our second unit. However the 3rd unit came from Mermaid Manufacturing here in Ft Myers, who took a major hit to their facility in Ian. I can't recommend them strongly enough as they helped me with the MarinAire unit issues we were having, and the unit from them performed beautifully.

Steve Xikes over there is the go to guy.
They reopened as Freedom Medical & Marine Solutions – Climate Controlled Solutions for Marine, Medical and RV

Yep, Steve supplied our last unit. Great kid.
They are getting into chilled systems.
