Hello-

I'd like to add worklights and to the back of my hardtop ('76 YF) and update the interior lighting on the AFT deck. The only wiring currently in the hardtop is for the interior 'dome' light. How have people added wiring in/on or under the hardtop? External conduit?

There may be a double secret Hatteras solution that someone will put forth, but on other boats I've seen this accomplished by routing out a channel, putting a conduit in, then glassing back over and putting a nice piece of teak trim on it to hide the work. You can have the wires come through a larger rounder "base" in the teak and then have a place to screw the lights to.

when i re cored my aft deck top i put conduit in and glassed it all up with the wires hanging where i wanted lights, i bought teak winch pads and mounted the led lights in the teak and screwed that to the under side of the hardtop. i used 4 inch teak pads but if i had to do it again i would go with a larger pad
