Work-Holiday Visa in Australia

Our son has made application for a "Work Holiday Visa" in Australia.
I sounds, to me, like an interesting way for a young man to travel and experience the other side of the world; otherwise, I know nothing about his planned undertaking.
I notice we have several Australian members of the forum, and I would appreciate suggestions from anyone who does have some knowledge or suggestions to share regarding going to Australia in this manner.

The problem here is that you are asking the wrong people. We live here, but I would think that none of us here are have ever applied for a work/holiday visa to our own country.

Thanks, I thought perhaps folks living in Australia might have run into or heard of people who participated in the program. I've been here in the US for over 60 years, and just learned of it from our son.
