The latest version of the Bugatti Veyron can hit 267MPH BUT, only the first 30 buyers get that capability. The rest of us are stuck with the "standard" version which is electronically limited to 257MPH. What a pisser that would be - to be stuck with the low performance version for 2.7 MILLION dollars. :)

At that price, I'll take 2.

The Bugatti does nothing for me, especially for $2.7M. If I had to blow that kind of money on cars, the garage would house several with the prancing horse on the front, among them would be a 328GTS. :)

I'll bet you could breath on a Vette, change out the gear ratio, and blow away the ugly B car, for about $150,000 max.

Since the Vette also looks about 1,000 times better, I really do not understand the Bugatti Veyron at all, or the "high" performance version. But, MikeP already knew that. <gg>

I got to drive the Aston Martin DB9 the other day.... WOW what a rush. V12 really jumps when you stomp on it and the car is beautiful... looks like it's doing 90 just sitting in a parking lot.

Now here is a real rush, (especially for an old fuel dragster driver). Our new Chevy Volt just got delivered to our dealer in Detroit. I am looking forward to that litle hot rod when we get home from Florida in late April. This is the first Volt sold in Michigan. Now, isn't that beter than a Ferrari?:)

"Now, isn't that beter than a Ferrari?"
Well, if they'd get Pininfarina to stick a body on it, it MIGHT be! I wonder if Grainger or Mouser has the appropriate electronic parts necessary to get another 100 or more HP out of that Volt motor? ;)

Sure would be a lot easier to deal with than blueprinting/changing pistons/cams, etc! :)

Veyron's have been trading under $1m for a while, so I'm not sure why anyone would pay more than double for 10 extra mph. I met a hot european blonde on the Gumball 3000 rally a couple of years ago that paid $1.5M for her Veyron, but the body was coated in real gold plating! The car had a Dubai plate and the number was "1000" so she probably knows somebody important over there, lol. While I can appreciate the technology and build quality, I agree that the Veyron is not the drop dead sexy car that one would expect from the world's foremost supercar. Speaking of drop dead sexy, how about the Rolls Drophead Coupe in front of the Veyron? Those suicide doors are just plain cool!

Yep, that was a two-car team. What's that almost $2M for both? Oil money. No other explanation. Did I mention the hot european blonde? ;)

Byron,

Enough about the cars.....yawn..... Show us pictures of the hot blond.

She'll probably cost more than the cars in the long run!

Ford missed a bet when they sued Ferrari for trying to highjack the F150 moniker. Instead, Ford should have allowed Ferrari to keep the name, but demanded they use the exact same badge that Ford mounts on their pickup line. Shoot, Ford should have offered to provide the badges for free!

Opportunity missed. Could have have resulted in a Ferrari Lariat, with Club Cab!

Guys....

I will just be happy with a 1966 GTO..Hurst 4 speed and a 389 :)

Make mine a 1970 GS 455 stage 1 with a four speed! SHAZAMM !!!! ws

Ah yes, GTOs and GS 455's...light snacks for Mopars. :)

Umm, NO.
I regularly compete in land speed events (the Texas Mile) and the Vettes rarely top 225 no matter how much power they make, they're just too un aerodynamic.
The hot ticket is a Ford GT or Lamborghini Gallardo body with a progressive boost contolled dry ice intercooled water/methanol sprayed setup making 2,000 rwhp @roughly 45 psi of boost.
They go 240-250, and are the fastest "street" cars out there (or anywhere).

Nothin' comes alive like a 455... they give mopers the runs LOL and THEN you turn the air off to really shut them down! ws

:)

Along these (old musclecar) lines...down the street here (Mexico City) is a small car dealer, usually sells sports cars and commonly there are several used Porsches, Ferraris, etc. (Recently they had a Maybach).

The other day I was passing on my Norton Commando and I had to do a quick turnaround. There was a '69 fastback Barracuda there that looked like it was sitting in a showroom in 1969. THe body/interior was literally new. Whether it was perfectly restored or had been found in that condition, I don't know. I was ready to buy it! But that was the good news. The bad new(es) was: it was a 318, it had the light duty 904 tranny, and the light duty 8 1/4 rear end. So basically it was your "family car," not one of the performance versions, like the Formula S 340. I figured that maybe I'd buy and convert it to a 340S clone. Then I learned the price...their NON-Negotiable price was $39,500 USD!!!!!

My wife (speaks spanish) and I went down there yesterday eve and when I politely expressed my doubts that they'd ever get that price, they politely informed me that the car would be gone within a week at that price.

Dang, I wish I hadn't sold all my muscle cars through the years!

Any of you guys checkout the national liquidators lauderdale site lately? They have some old model t's and a bunch of DB'9 Volantes...

...and the Cleveland shop has a 1985 53 ED.
