  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I am trying to relocate speaker wire currently run from the salon to the aft deck and the flybridge. I am going to install a 1.5" ss "handrail running from the storage/void under the sliding window stb of the helm to the the hardtop and into the flybridge space.

I am having a problem communicating from inside the aft stb side ER to the void space just forward of and or on the starboard side of the lower helm of a 43 DCFB 1983 vintage.

Before I pull out a hole saw, any advice?

Thanks,
Vincent

That run on our 1980 43 DCFB would be made as follows:
1. through an opening in the aft engine room bulkhead near the overhead above the inboard port Main engine stringer to the area in the main cabin closet behind the salon's main electrical panel.
2. from there follow the cable runs to the helm area.
3. from the helm area run to the stbd side and into the locker behind the shore-power connectors.

Will,
Thanks for the confirmation. Lilly Marie has the same run. I was thinking about a more direct route, to shorten the cable run, but it appears that the stb engine throttle / shift cables make that same run and shorter electric cables probably do not warrant drilling holes.

I notice that there is a hole at the forward end of the shore power void space where the line for the "shore water" runs toward the ER. I will give that a closer look.
