Hatteras Model
58' YACHT FISHERMAN (1970 - 1981)
anybody know what type of wood was used for the wing door frames on a 1972 58yf? i have some rot on one frame and would like to splice some of the same type of wood to repair it.

Mine is teak.

Mine are teak.

I’d say in that year mahogany

My 71 DCMY had mahogany. Vertical posts are 3 different molding profiles .

spoke to jeremy at sams, he had no idea what wood was used but said CD Piner would know. i cant get anyone at hatteras, they must be closed down. i called a long time hatteras dealer and he said cedar was an option. i went to newman lumber in gulfport mississippi and my buddy doug(former hatteras owner) said that it was not teak or mahogany but it was spanish cedar. he dug through several stacks of wood to find the closest grain match. he managed to find something that will be very close. trying to match 50 year old wood is pretty tough
