Windlass

We have a 1972 53 MY. Can anyone recommend a windlass, brand and model. There is so much information on the internt, it is actually overwhelming. Any feedback is apprecited. thx

I ve had good experiences with Muir and Maxwell. I think any of the big names are fine

Although One issue I have with one of our maxwells is that the chain stripper is attached to the hawse pipe. I had a jam a couple of weeks ago and the stripper got ripped out of the hawse pipe. Problem is that the hawse pipe is attached form under the windlass so the whole thing as to come off. Bad design to watch out for when shopping
