Looking for a 1/2 day +/- yacht charter for family birthday celebration out of Wilmington NC/Wrightsville Beach/Southport. Could be 10-20 people depending on availability.

Ideally w/e of Aug 9-11. Prob looking larger motoryacht but open to all options.

I know area well, lived there, had boat at Seapath.

Any suggestions/contact from the crowd?

Thanks.

I don't know anything up there but you need to decide how many people you will have. 12 is the big number for charters. Up to 12, under a bareboat contract (boat is rented separately from crew, 2 different contracts), any boat can be used, it doesn't have to be inspected.

Over 12, the boat must be an inspected vessel, with all the rules and costs and mods that entails, including being US build. Much harder to find and usually a lot more expensive.

Again not familiar about what s available in Wrighstville, but you ll have better luck if you decide how many will be in your groups.

Thanks.

To clarify - looking for captain/crewed charter, not bareboat. Number can/will vary based on what I can find. Price isn't necessarily the issue. It's a 75th bday celebration.

Blue Horizon used to run a 70' Hat out of Baltimore for weddings, parties, etc.

Looking for any suggestions.

I understand you want a crewed charter but most contracts are written as bareboat in order to take up to twelve passengers instead of 6. It s just how the paperwork is written... One contract for the boat, one for the crew.

If nobody knows a boat in Wrightsville beach, your best bet will be to call a charter broker.

I'm stumped. Carolina beach has a few sunset charter boats. They are more they huge gambling types. Southport has a small charter but nothing as large as you might be looking. I would call them anyway and ask if they know anyone running a charter boat the size you are looking for. They might know of someone else. Wrightsville, carolina beah are maybe.....

Also check the big sportfishing boats of which there are plenty, let them know you just want a cocktail cruise, not a fishing trip. Those guys are always looking for a way to make a buck.
