I cannot wait. This is going to be HUGE for boaters in the U.S. as well as marina operators in Cuba.

Heading for Tortugas / Keys next week. Would love to head strait for Cuba instead!

I had a hunch you might be up for this! This can open up a whole world of cruising for us. If we can leap frog along the coast of Cuba we can hit Mexico etc..

All I can say is it's about time! Count me in....

Cigars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dog will be ecstatic.

Interesting news....Are the marinas able to handle the the boats, power, depth, food, fuel, laundry, bait tackle, ice, water, etc.??? Or is that something that they will now start to build up? If not what is a projected time frame? Lastly and most important, Is it SAFE??? I know a few people that have been there, they did say it was nice I dont remember the circumstances and did't really pay attention because i didn't see the point on asking a bunch of questions about some place I'll probably never go. Now I wish I would have listened better. I guess I'm going to have to ask around a bit now. Doaes anyone know if there is a cruising guide to Cuba or who do you think will be the first to release one.

Thanks

Tony

Went over about 11-12 yrs ago before Bush really cracked down on Cuba travel so a few things may have changed but I would bet not much. Puerto Marina Hemingway somewhat west of downtown Havana is a well established marina with most of the amenities (a few quirks involved) that larger cruising boats need. Keep in mind that clearing in and out is time consuming, different than the Bahamas, but handled in a very courteous manner. Felt very safe as we toured Havana, eating out at night, walking the neighborhoods and traveling portions of western Cuba. A great experience and the Cuban citizens were as proud/polite group of people in spite of there crumbling infrastructure as I have met in the Caribbean. Did not have a cruising guide, just the lat/lon of the marina and shot over from Key West.

I'm sure it's lovely. I'm certain that the Cuban folks are friendly and charming. For now, I'll be spending my spare time and my hard earned dollars elsewhere.

I'm in.....Can't wait to see how this works out.

I want to export Paint.......I think every building needs to be painted.....

Car dealership. I don't think there is a car newer than the mid sixties there. Also antique auto parts for all of the vehicles already there...

We would also be in for a cruise there!
