  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' MOTOR YACHT (1984 - 1987)
I am ready to change the filter elements in my Racor 1000 MA's for the first time, the replacement cartridges are Racor #2020SM-OR. I am looking for advice on where to purchase in order to get REAL Racor elements at a good price. I am in Houston, TX so local here or online, either way is fine.

TIA,

I bought a big box of them on Ebay a few years ago. YMMV

Most marine suppliers have them. never seen knockoffs at a good supplier either.

Any decent marine or truck supply will have them locally. marinefilters.com is a great online source

Try Green Marine, They have offices in New Orleans and Houston I believe. That is where I buy my Racor and Baldwin filters for Detroit engines.

Thanks everyone for the responses....I ended up buying a 1/2 case lot on eBay.

How did the price compare to marinefilters.com Dave?

I bought mine at marinefilters.com as well. I'm interested in the price difference. Might save a little.

Watch out for age. Probably don't want 15year old filters.

I paid a little more than if I had purchased from marinefilters.com...not enough to worry about but I believe I will use marinefilters next time just so I know the vendor.

Don't know if the paper filter medium breaks down but I got some purolator air filters for a vehicle the other day and the rubber was rotten right out of the box

That's why I deal with local suppliers. If there is a problem I see it at the counter or when they deliver. Never had a bad racor yet.

I buy mine from Blackburn Marine in the Kemah area. For retail, it's about the cheapest place.

Bah!! There's nothing wrong with using ebay. If you're not satisfied, they'll make the seller refund your money. You guys worry too much over dates. Ever drink expired milk or is that too scary for you :) ???

I buy a few things online but mostly in person. I can't save enough to make it worth the wait when I need it.
