What's up with that?

It's a pretty boat, but what seems unusual is the at length description of "core replacement" I thought it was gospel that Hatteras did not make cored hulls in 1965. Of course, it's possible the yard misled him, but does anyone have some insight into this boat?

No idea. I thought their only cored hull was the 41 convertible in the 80s or 90s, whenever it was, and they didn't make many of those.

It looks okay until you get to the engines. Maybe they run well, but they do it without looking good.

There are other cored hulls out there. The first few 46C II were cored. Many Hatts have cored hulls above the water line. Pretty sure all the transoms are cored.

Are they all that way? I thought it was hull sides only and all above the water line. New Vikings are balsa cored bottoms. Surprised they went that route considering how nearly every '80s-90's Vikings have wet transom coring.

As follow-up information, Boat sold for 35K. Seems like a pretty reasonable deal for someone.

The Ballarina 88/52c was ripped open down to he chine. Saw it with my own eyes when I was bidding on her.
You would be supprised how thin the cored hulls are. Especially by Hatt standards. The ballerina had pushed a pole over just behind the aft tower leg on the Stb side. The pole chewed through the outer glass then the coring then finally the inner shell and down she went. I was Leary of the water intrusion since the core was exposed when she went down. Of course she still sits on the hard in FTP 10years later
