In the "For Sale" section I posted an Ideal windlass:
http://www.samsmarine.com/forums/showthread.php?27568-NOS-Ideal-V3c-windlass-Part-1
Now I have a philosophical question for you guys: how does one value NOS stuff? [don't say "what the market will bear, etc."]
It is apparently brand new (but I cannot absolutely confirm that) so from Ideal it is worth $4,751. But I am *not* Ideal Windlass, just a private seller.
Although unused, it is after all 20 years old.
It is heavy duty old-school which could point to solid USA manufacture, or may mean better bang for the buck with new-generation Chinese.
Personally, when shopping Ebay I usually seek out new items and get interested if valued between 50%--70% of list (rarely above 60% in actuality).
So I listed as "make offer', but what does the HOF group wisdom say?
