Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I realized that every boat will have a dif type of paint on it, but when I bought mine the gentleman told me that it was "hatteras white". I think that this is just the color and that there are many different variations of what type of paint to use (probably all coming in "hatteras white". The guy who details the boat told me he thought the boat was painted, not gel coated. So...I am just trying to buy of quart of whatever is most likely on my topside for touchup and matching a few new parts I'm putting on the boat...any ideas on how to proceed? Thanks in advance!

My 1979 43DC has E.I. DuPont Imron White #67766U on the hull and superstructure. I took this to our local DuPont paint store and they matched it perfectly. It comes in two cans and you mix what you need.
I would check with Hatteras to make sure that your paint is the same!!

Hope that this helps.

As far as I know, EVERY Hatteras ever built was painted at the factory, some Awlgrip, some Imron. There IS gelcoat beneath the primer and paint, but its pretty much a non-issue.
