Went fishin'

After helping deliver other people's boats back up from Cabo, with all due respect, it's a hell of alot different when it's your boat. The anxiety level is x5 when it's yours. I helped bring a mikelson back up and we got our asses handed to us. I just figured if anything happened it was the owner's problem. I would help in any way possible, but it was his boat and his job to make critical decisions. No matter how bad it got on those trips, my job was just to stand my watches and let the owner know if there was a problem and assist if I could.

I couldn't have said it better. Considering the time constraint, it made more sense for me to pay for a trip on the Rooster rather than shoulder the worries of being captain when we weren't going to get to enjoy a liesurely cruise, but instead had to run 24/day pedal to the metal to cover the ground necessary to find large fish in only 15 days. Hell, we had to run 1000 miles each way, not including all the driving around we did while looking. That's a lot of lost sleep. Not to mention the fact that the Rooster holds about 700 more scoops of bait than my boat does........
There are times when it's nice to be a passenger. Sleep anytime you want, fish, eat, repeat.

To give you an idea of how much ground we covered on this trip, the Rooster burns ~3 gallons/mile. (triple 600 horse Luggers @1350 rpm and one of the 100kw gens running)
We burned over 9,000 gallons........without having to stop for fuel.
