Wife and I were bottom fishing, drifting over some nice structure. After being at idle for a good 30-45 minutes I returned to the bridge to set up another drift. Upon engaging gears the port "drive temperature" alarm goes off. I silence alarm while peering at gauges and find nothing out of the ordinary. Wife takes the helm while I head to ER, IR readings throughout the gear are consistent with the starboard around 134, fluid super clean and perfect level. It happen this one time, have fished several hours since with no further alarm which corrected itself before I got back to the helm, no performance issues from that gear either.

Most likely a loose or intermintent connection. Most common at the sensor itself. Could look good but be just a few strands of corroded wire left at the connector.

I had a helper step on that particular one and break off the spade connector. That can be difficult to fix, but I found a good way if that is what you're dealing with.

Check your connections on all ends. You probably have some corroded terminals.
