  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
65' CONV -Series I (1986 - 1998)
I have seen this discussed on other sites, but dated.

I have 7 binders of fishing waypoints, and several older lorans, and furunos in my closet, full of numbers that I have forgotten about. I am sure many are duplicates, and some probably feet from each other.

I would like to sit at home in the AC and spend time logging all of these in to see what I actually have. I know there are some spots that have not been fished in years, but would like to see them on a map, distance from each other with different Icons for snapper, grouper, sea bass, etc.

With the fishing regs changing so much, be nice to look at one screen, get an Idea where to go, what is legal that day,and plot it on the boat without putting every number into the boats gps.

So what is your position? Is there a program for computer? I have Navionics on my phone as backup, and thought about upgrading to an iPad. I just am not sure.

Be good all,
Tim

GArmin blue chart for iPad / iPhone let you not only enter WP but Catch Point that includes fishing details like specie and more.

Garmin BlueChart for Ipad also lets you upload waypoints and routes directly to your Garmin chartplotter if you add wifi router to your on bard setup (think I paid less then $200 for their wireless router). I'll never create a route again on my plotter (4212), soo easy to do on ipad, then simply upload. Nice as you can use Ipad anywhere you have time (sitting on aft deck, train, plane, bed, etc). I'm not sure if Iphone version allows wifi upload as I always use BlueChart on Ipad.

So the iPad has enough storage capacity to hold and maintain all of these numbers? I have no experience with one. I have older Raymarine MFD's on the bridge, so no joy with the sharing, of info, however, If it can get me close, and the spot is hot, I can log it on the boat gps.

Thanks for the help,
Tim
