  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
67' COCKPIT MY (1987 - 1995)
Does anyone have contact information for someone to install a SeaPro Watermaker on a 54 Hatteras in Tampa?

I have spoken with two guys that want to sell and install other brands that are about $10k more. They aren't interested in working with the SeaPro product.

The install is beyond what I am willing to undertake by myself.

Thanks

Bruce

If you have an unused thru hull it s a pretty easy job. I installed a seawater pro back in December as a back up.

The one thing I didn’t like about the unit was the feed pump which I replaced with a March and the nylon tubing below the waterline. I used reinforced hose instead.

Also on the 240v model they used a single pole breaker, it needs a double pole breaker. Easy fix.

That said to answer your question, no idea who could install over there

What about the people selling it to you. Have them install it. That's the best way to get it done right with a warranty.

I have a different brand, but had to smile-and-dial a bit to find a knowledgable guy. Even then, I had to kinda' talk him into going through my already installed watermaker. It's an all self contained unit I can take to this guy's shop...otherwise he might have declined to help.

We only have a few marinas left down here, around Ft Myers, which service large vessels. I called 3 before I was given the name of the guy who does that work. You might need to make some calls.

It looks like an extensive job. Not overly complicated, but it's a blown weekend.

Try Viking Boatworks, St Petersburg, 727-576-1094

They installed my water maker.

Philip at H20 is pretty good. East coast.
It's pretty simple if you have the time.

To complete the thread, I hired Phillip Brasington from H2O to install the SeaPro. He picked it up in Fort Lauderdale and delivered it to Tampa. It took him a day and a half to install. Great guy. Had dinner with him at our yacht club and he stayed aboard.

The unit is much simpler than my prior unit and still makes 40gph. Replacement filters from Home Depot and no circuit board to die and render the whole system worthless.. Total cost of the unit was about $5600. Install was $4500 with travel from Jupiter to FLL to Tampa and back which probably added $800-$1000. (Sad commentary on Tampa Bay marine services businesses).

Thank you Sams and Forum members for the intel available. Local quotes for a new watermaker were $18-$20k and without the info from the Forum I probably would have paid it.

1/2 price in this market is a total win. Congrats.

Have they gone up in price? The 240v 40gph I installed as a back up was $4500 in December?

I love how simple they are
