Hello everyone,

I currently do no use my dishwasher, use it for storage. I noticed water on the galley floor and saw it dripping from the dishwasher. I opened the door to notice it was full of water. Garbage disposal is not an issue, no clog, seems to be working ok, help!

Pending the height of dishwasher loop (above the disposal connection), some water can still dribble back into the washer. We have found that just running the disposal can fling just drops towards the dishwasher connect. If you never use the dishwasher, a few drops have added up. Raise the washers discharge loop. Sometimes up behind the cabinet.
We have been here a few times before.

SOP, loop height above the top of the sink level.

Vented loops are not required but on one job, the tight room to work in, required one.

Thank you Captain👍

I would suspect the the dishwasher water valve is bypassing some water . That is assuming the water is on to the dishwasher . If you used it regularly, you might not notice this leak.

Start by turning off the valve feeding the dishwasher to eliminate the built in valve as a source

Then check the routing of the discharge hose from the dishwasher to the disposal. Make sure there is a loop higher than the disposal.

thanks for the info, but on a 54MY where is the valve and supply your referring? Is the washer
dryer supplied by the same valve? Because I shut off that water and have not seen any accumulation since.

Supply valves to dishwashers are usually under the sink. Start there. The washer should have its own supply valve, typically behind it.
