  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
54' MOTOR YACHT (1985 - 1988)
Has antone installed a washer/drier on a 43' DCMY? If so, what model did you use and where did you put it?

Bill

I've seen separate units installed on the port side aft deck right next to the doorway leading down. I think the fiberglass was cut out some along that side to allow the units to sit back in further and then a countertop was added on top of them. It looked nice but it does make the walkway area much smaller between the helm seat and the port side.

Bill- this is on a 1971 43 dc. Located in the aft cabin. Splendide 5200.

Stbd front cabin. Hatteras installed. Any 24" apartment units work fine. Need to take trim and door off but they are not glued on my boat. We just replaced ours a few weeks ago with a front loading washer and new dryer. Gave us a big cabinet underneath which is great. I can post pictures if you want them.

Ted: Please post pictures.

Charlie: I'm located in Sanford. If you still have your Splendide 2000, what would be your price?

Bill

$200 gets you the W/D and custom made cabinet...

Yes, the Splendide is a nice unit. We have ours mounted in the port forward salon area of our '72 43'DCFB. It came with the boat, now 11 years, and has been faithful (wood knockin' sound)...

Here are the pictures.

We have a splendide comb-o-matic 6000 on our 44 Tri Cabin; it's on the aft deck and sits next to the wet bar. I thought it looked a little tacky just hanging out there at first, so I just put a table cloth over it while it's not in use, which solved that problem and avoided the need for custom cabinetry. The unit also gives us a place to use as a chart table (it's just behind the helm area) or place we can use for food (like a buffet), or whatever else.

The unit supposedly dries the clothes too but we have not had success with that; when it comes time to replace we would do so with a vented unit, and somehow figure out where to run the vent.

Good Luck!

Charlie:

I will call you about your unit.

Bill;
You may remember we moved our galley up and made a laundry room out of the old galley. We used a Splendid 2100 with external vent. External vent is very important, this single machine works very well with a drying cycle time of about 100 minutes.
