This may be a stupid question, but I'm tired of hoses leaving marks on my deck and house whenever I wash my boat. What hoses do you guys use to wash boats?

It isn't a stupid question. There are some coiled plastic hoses available through marine suppliers. They aren't good for much else, but they do this one job very well, and they stow in a small space. They don't mark up the deck.

Can you suggest a supplier Jim?

Thanks

As much as I normally hate "seen on TV" gadgets, I tried one of those self retracting compacting whatevering hoses and will never use anything else on board! Unlike the coils they don't link and don't leave mark. So easy I handle it s no big deal to use a quick release and put it away in the anchor locker after use

I hate the coil hoses, they always kink

Ditto. You can fit 100' of hose into half a 5 gal bucket when finished.

Ok so... I went to Home Depot bought 100' of this "hose" for $40 and it may well be the best $40 ever spent!!!! Going back for another 100' soon.

Thanks guys.

I tried one of those shrinkable hoses and liked it, but it only lasted a month or so before it broke. Can anyone recommend a good quality brand?

I had the same experience......noticed they are selling a better looking (more sturdy) one now. Mine came apart at the coupling.

I have found that the black X Hose with the metal fittings are much better quality than the green hoses that have been advertised on TV. They are a little more expensive, but much better.

Has anybody had one for a year or so? I just read reviews on several at Amazon, and most seem to go bad pretty fast. I did not see any reviews on the more expensive 'pro' hose.

The DAP brand has lasted the longest for us. I had one of the others that popped an end fitting.
