Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Clicked onto the $22 Hoodie...The Screen that comes up shows one like it (without the same front) but it's $25.. Not a deal killer.... But not what's shown on the front page.

So to heck with it... I'll order two New Englander Jackets ($48 each).. Discription says sizes XS thru 2XX.. But when I click onto the size to order, only XS,S or M are shown as options....I can get the admiral one but not one for me....:(

Call them and you will probably get the answers and the items you want.

A couple of months ago I was going to order a long sleeved t-shirt and a cap for a combined $38. All looked great until I enquired about shipping (to Australia).

I and my kids buy stuff from the US all the time and the shipping is always from around $5 for document envelopes up to maybe $20 for larger items. T-shirt and cap in a post bag...... I think around $13-$15 would have been acceptable.

One of my kids recently bought two t-shirts and a CD from www.DFTBA.com. Shipping was $7 and they have THE BEST online customer service I have EVER seen by a long way. CD case was bent and cracked - another sent out at no cost.

Hatt Wear price????? $95. After trying a number of times to get a response, maybe around $60USD for the most basic economy mail.

THAT was a deal breaker.

I'll be in Cal. in a month, maybe I'll have them send to the hotel for $7.

I had the same problem with shipping costs to Canada. I had dropped a few hints about Christmas gifts T shirts, burgee's etc. The shipping cost was much more than we would normally pay from other retailers in the States.

The list of parts I need is growing so I will have to find a solution probably have them delivered to friends in the US and pick them up next time we are there.

It's REALLY expensive for small retail shops like this to ship international (or even Canada). They don't have the big contracts with UPS/FedEx/DHL to command 70-80% discounts. Furthermore, they are (rightly so) probably taking the conservative business approach that each order must make money.

I'm *in* this business (logo'd merchandise, online stores, distribution, etc.) and run many of these types of stores for companies. Carrying costs, boxes, packing, labor, overhead and freight all errode the bottom line to the point that it's not a very profitable business. It's a way to get the "brand" out there (which DOES serve a purpose), but makes it difficult for consumers such as us to buy these items....

Just wanted to take up for Sams in this case. I don't think they're charging too much - just trying to cover their costs and maybe eek out a little profit.

They probably have to go through more hoops to export the stuff because they do not ship internationally often enough to do it without a forwarder or shipper assistance. They also need to be cautious of foreign credit cards and frauds.

Hi All,

This may not apply to Australia but when I owned my Fine Contemporary Art Glass Gallery I bought artists from Europe and sold to European customers as well.

On the sales side (you're never going to believe this) the US postal service priority mail ranked well above any other carrier relative to lower cost, on time delivery, and least damage (actually no damaged parcel claims).
