tired old batteries

Jim, those things are heavy and ugly.If you just want temporary batteries, get 2 used 12 volt car batteries at the junk yard, and buy an 8 volt tractor battery put them in series and you get 32 volts. I use [2] 12 volt truck batteries and a fair sized 8 volt [all from Interstate Battery Co] They are 5 years old , and I haven't had a problem.plenty of cranking and house power. battery reply

I DID SAVE MONEY ON BUYING THE 12 VOLT BATTERIES BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY COMMON, AND ARE STOCKED BY A LOT OF COMPANIES. I ALSO USED INTERSTATE. I MADE A CUSTOM BATTERY DEAL THAT COVERS THE WHOLE BANK AS A GROUP, AND SHIFTED THEM TOWARDS THE BACK END OF THE STBD. COMPARTMENT IN MY 53 M.Y.. IT IS NICE TO HAVE THEM OUT OF THE WAY. I ALSO BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE " AUTOMATIC " BATTERY WATER PITCHERS TO KEEP THEM FULL. THIS REALLY HELPS TO KEEP THEM ALIVE. I TRUST YOUR CHARGER IS IN GOOD SHAPE. I LIVE UP NORTH WHERE THE BATTERIES SIT ALL WINTER WHICH IS HARD ON THEM, BUT THEY SEEM TO LAST PRETTY LONG.[5 YEARS SO FAR]
