I need to get some new voltmeters for the 32v system. Anyone have any Idea who makes them anymore?

Hey Pat--- I spent the better part of 2 weeks searching in earnest for the meters and had poor luck at best. Even for used stuff, military surplus, etc.
The best I did was find some forklift stuff thats not quite what I wanted. None of its quite OEM either. See pics. I actually bought a dash panel from a member with VDO stuff that doesnt even come close to matching. ( its for sale now, all 32V ).If you find a supplier, I will take 4. Several other members need them also. Welcome to the 32 volt world, when dinosaurs ruled the earth !! ws

These are pics of mine and another members VMs.They are identical. CANNOT FIND THEM. PERIOD. ws

I have the AC brand voltmeters still installed. Who makes the LS voltmeter in your pic? that would work for me. Any Idea where i can get two?

I knew you would ask me that... I did soooo much searching and when I found that one they told me that was for example only and NOT AVAILABLE.
I would try checking on some forklift repair guys down your way. I did this via the net and not in person. That's next. FLs are around 48 volts.
Let me try to find and instrument repair shop. Sky needs one too and had the same luck. I opened my big mouth and said no problem. So now its my turn to pay the piper  . I bought the dash panel from an HOF member repowering for 200 plus shipping and the VDOs (still un available! ) dont match the dash scheme even close for me.
You can get a 24 VM and put a resistor in line, but then you have to do the math when underway... I WILL PERSEVERE!! ws

Try ISSPRO, on the West Coast. The have a web site. They will do custom gauges. Also, have you tried Sam's for this stuff? They have a lot of these kinds of things. And they say "Hatteras" on them.

Yes, definitely check with Sam,s. If it is for a Hatt, Steve McPherson most of it, and what he doesn't have, he usually knows where you can get it. He will rarely disappoint you!

This just in... BTW Sams was around $95 !! I find that slightly inflated !! The saga continues... ws

Bill,

Unfortunately I am unable to get voltmeters for 32 volt systems anymore.
Both AC and VDO have discontinued theirs. I have had a lot of requests for
these as there are a lot of trawlers in this area that still have 32 volt
systems.

Thanks,

Still searching--- the VM in the pic is the not so OEM unit from Sam's. ($90) ws

If you go to Hemmings Motor News on line, or better, buy one, you will see ads for folks that refurbish instruments.

I have used various ones on antique boats and they do a fabulous job.

Maybe that will solve a problem. Not cheap either BTW.

Yer right! I had a guy in Mich.(?) re-do an ammeter for my Roamer
(stupid waste of money) that was about $75, 20 years ago and when all was said and done, I still had ammeters. You cant beat voltmeters. You get the whole line-up on one program. I will get a Hemmings soon, but they are dangerous to read. I start looking at 455 Gran Sports and big block Chevelles etc. Last time I got my paws on one I called a man about a pair of Packard PT boat engines for my Roamer. WHEW ! 1000 HP each with gears for about 5K each too. Still packed in cosmoline. One of these days, I'll go junking, and theres several big diesel wood yachts there for parts. Voltmeters need a combo screw driver and a pair of pliers to be had. :D ws
