Yesterday morning we Came back from a week end outing at 17kts. Felt good :)

I had forgotten how loud the water noise is after all these years at hull speed on mine or in climate controlled skylounges at work. Can’t hear the engine exhaust over the water noise.

she looks good.

"Stumbled across it" you say? :p

Great video. We need to see more Hatteraii underway like that.

Would be perfect except for the dock line and fender...... I'm sorry. I can't help myself.

At least we can’t see the green bow.

True, leaving fender overboard isn't great idea when actually getting on plane. Most motoyachts can leave them over all the time because they just hullspeed and drive to the pump out station

Fenders left out are a sign of a sloppy captain and crew regardless of speed. Plenty of them around here in Miami, even larger crewed boats. Probably the same idiots that drive with their headlights on at night and drag all over anchorages.

What if the boat is heading to a raft up? Then fenders and lines out is sign of a prepared captain.

I leave fenders out all the time. Friends come out and tie to outside of my boat all the time. Its easier to leave them there than run out all the time to get them.

Annual Fuel dock trip guess they don't get out much
Nmpg its on a river thought it was supposed to be just mpg as some here claim ;)

I don’t know I set lines and fenders when I get wherever I m going. Not while still underway.

Bump for planing boats! "Hatteras Girl, no lurching"

I got to say I ve been running at 17kts Cruise a few times in the last week and it feels good. The boat pops on plane easily and feels very solid.

17-18knots is a nice slow cruise for me at 1700-1800rpm....according to floscans I get around 1nmpg total. There's a reason I wanted the original 41 hull.

I blame the guests for distracting me from my captain-ish duties.

Can confirm, no pounding, yawing or broaching! At high speeds, it cushions its way thru the sea!

That is a valid defense. Case dismissed. ;)

Fender and dock line? I don't remember seeing anything... jajaja

My apologies. I'll paint the green bow before I post anymore photos like this.
