Viking 58 vs Bertram 60?

Speaking of recent value....what do you all think about the two of these sport fish boats quality and current value? Viking is a late 90s enclosed bridge and the Bertram is a early 90s open bridge. Both have Detroits for power. I know a HATTERAS 65 WOULD BE BETTER but finding a good one and then moving it 1,500 miles costs$$
 
Detroits in a late 90s 58 Viking? The Bertram is a much better boat in build quality and ride. The 58 Viking has a very nice interior and ER. Decent ride but not a Hatt and you'll be happy you bought the Bertram when the seas pick up.
 
Did those Bertrams have a problem with hull delamination, or did that come later on?
 
I think it was later boats but a good idea to check.

The cored boats had the problems.
 
The 1990 series had the hull coring problems. There is a story about a guy who had to have it fixed. BIG BUCKS. They drilled a test hole in the lower side of the hull and the coring "poured out of the hull like cream of wheat". Google it and I'm sure it will come up.
 
Specifically that was a 54 sport fish.
 
The 60Bertram is a tank. I've never heard anything bad about that hull. Great timeless styling. Nice layout and ER.

Pretty sure that's the only cored Bertram prior to Ferrtti.
 
There were some 58 Vikings built at the end of the run that were really nice boats with Cat 3412's, they were adding some of the stuff that was going on the 61's that were replacing the 58. Always liked the 60 Bert but they really need the 16v92's to be fast enough, would be really great repowered with c32's.
