unknown salt water leak.

Good morning. I have a 1979 46c that seems to be collecting salt water on the port side in between the forward berth and the engine room. the in between is the master berth and head. I have changed the water supply hose to the head and also closed all valves to try and eliminate possible leaks one by one. however, I still get 3 t0 4 gallons of water every week in the port side bilge of the engine room when I arrive on the weekend. can it be a keel leak. I ask this because in the spring I noticed the the back bottom of the keel was wet and seeping water. the folks in the yard said it was sweating and that is normal. the water is definitely salty, but there is no odor in the boat. I appreciate any help try to catch this elusive ghost. I am pulling it this week ,so I will check the keel again. thanks

I wish, but no. I know they drip along with the stuffing boxes, but not enough to accumulate that kind of water. the boat doesn't have to move and the water still appears every week when I arrive, and its only on the port side just in front of the engine.

I mentioned it because my port post needed repacking and would put that much water in bilge. You can tell if you plug up the limber hole back there overnight.


Could be combination. I have been making new gaskets for my sea strainers of late, but you said you've got that covered.


I noted a small leak in my raw water discharge hose between engine and shower head. Raw water in engine would drip until HE ran out of salt water. Don't know if you are running engines to make this a possibility.


As for keels, I know nothing which I think is a good sign for and my boat.
