Droppin zeboat eh?

Not his best day one the crane.

That'll buff out.

A screwup of that magnitude requires two crane operators.

So, TWO boxes of Cracker-Jacks for licenses.

Good thing it did not have stabilizers. It could have bent the fins when the strap slipped.

Looks like you found yachtsmanbill's next project!

Yup... theres one in every crowd LOL... I read a post mortem survey somewhere on that boat, and I believe the MTUs(?) pulled outa the stringers and went through the roof! ... A bit much by even MY standards!!
Didnt that actually happen in Turkey??? ws

LSMFT... remember that one?? Loose Straps Mean Flabby... uh ,er, trimtabs??? (or turbines at the power plant!!) ws

Whoops...think I'll find a new occupation. Fast.

Anybody know what was said after they dropped it ?????
I know what I would say :D

Just picture those motors breaking loose and going through the roof !
Bummer!

I hope this works.

Boat Launching for Dummies
They told me not to get the trailer too deep into the water.

I wish I had pictures of a similar incident at Homestead FL in the mid 60's
A guy came with a brand new boat, trailer and pickup and launched the boat by hitting on the brakes and letting the Boat slid off the trailer, however he did not have a rope attached and the boat went out into the the launch area. When he jumped out to try and catch the boat, the pickup and trailer rolled down the ramp and flooded the truck before he could stop it. The boat while he was dealing with the truck filled with water because he had not put the plug in the boat .

How come no one noticed the forward strap was so far aft? I wonder what caused the engines to break loose? Was it gravity alone or was it the shock of the impact when she hit the water? Either way I would have thought they would stay mounted. I would expect them to have shifted and maybe a mount or two to fail, but not break free.

Seems to me the strap placement was OK, but there may have been two cranes involved. Notice the forward strap starts angling back toward the stern as though the boom on that crane was moved in, or that it was lowered at a faster rate than the aft crane. That's when everything went to hell.

After a second look, you may be right. I don't know much about cranes but I would think that keeping the boat level with 2 separate cranes would be tough to do. I still think the forward strap is too far aft. Looks to me like it should be about half way between where it is and the fender. Maybe if they put out a few more fenders the boat would be OK.

My feeling is when it hit the water and then sudden stop. The mounts are not design to work when upside down and probably got torn apart. Wonder if that's covered under warranty :D

My guess is that they were using two cranes. If not, it would most likely be a set-up like on a travel lift where they can keep the load level. I can't imagine that boat not being marked as to sling placement. Either way, somebody won't be doing this again.

Anybody on here speak German? :D

I'm sorry. When I read your above story, I laughed so hard tears came to my eyes!

I just watched it a couple times, but it looked to me like the sling broke. You can see it break and then here the big BANG...the delay due to the cameraman's distance.
