These designs just keep getting wackier. I look at something like this and just scratch my head. I predict in 10 years they'll come full circle and design boats just like ours and declare that 'retro-classic styling is new again'!

Sheesh

I like to see how this trunk would make out in a force 8 or 9 sea. Are there people who actually buy these things? They must be idiots.

Well, it sure has it's own appeal.....but not for heavy weather Bering Sea crab fishing....for use by 99% of owners who cruise for pleasure with guests and are looking for scenery, among the Greek Isles for example, this could be fantastic...

My own feeling is that many pleasure boats are too closed in and lack ventilation and enough window area to really feel "outside"....but those features in the under 100 foot range might severely limit safe cruising conditions.
When in Nantucket the last few summers, I marvelled at 100 foot and larger yachts departing and arriving in 30 knot plus wind conditions....these were more than large enough to handle the steep waveforms in Nantucket Sound of course, but I did not see any houseboats out there....
