Hey guys. My Garret/Air Research turbo inboard on 8V71TI flange connecting it to the exhaust elbow has disintegrated. Where’s the best option to get a replacement quickly? In Tampa Bay. Thanks in advance.

Contact Wayne at Anclote Diesel in Tarpon Springs.

If Wayne doesn't have it, Diesel Pro usually stocks most DD parts... 1-2 day delivery from Louisiana.

I would go with an original Garrett turbo. i replaced four, three were OEM the one I bought from Diesel Pro is a knock off and it does work, but it is leaking a small amout of oil into the cooler and then into the blower.

Someone on here said that stuff from Diesel Pro is not the oem stuff is appears to be?

I am paraphrasing, but, they don’t really have much info on their parts, imo, so I am somewhat suspicious.

too bad because they have a great interface etc..

Talk to Avenger (Derrick at East Coast Diesel) here. He'll take good care of you.

I did all 4 turbos and I went with the OEM turbos on the advice of the mechanics doing the engine rebuilds. That one line item by itself cost $10k+, it was the second most expensive part of the rebuilds after the labor. There are off-brand ones out there that are way cheaper. I was leaning in that direction, thinking well a turbo is a turbo how bad can it be? They talked me out of it, apparently the answer is: Pretty bad.

There are also a bunch of places selling rebuilt ones online, but they didn't like that idea either. Dieselpro sells the chinese knockoff ones, that's why their price is so good. Both the knockoffs and the rebuilt used ones were +/- $1200 and the OEM turbos made by Garrett were $2500 apiece. Is there really a difference for twice the price? Who knows. I haven't had any trouble with the OEM ones, and it made the guys who had to warranty the engines happy.

I don't suppose you have either the part number off the tag, or a better picture, do you?

You may not need a whole turbo, just the exhaust side.
Please post the part numbers on that tag.
We can cheat, we know the first digits are 51

I've placed several orders through Diesel Pro and at least the items I ordered and received were OEM.
