Hatteras Model
60' CONV -Series I (1978 - 1986)
I am in the process of having new "removable insulation blankets" made for my turbos, risers and collectors. My parents have used Marine Manifold of Farmingdale, NY for theirs a few years ago. I had also been recommended to MMXhaust in FL and Great Southern Insulation in FL, and Firwin in Canada. When taking off the old set of covers, I noticed a tag that said Marine Exhause Covers, Inc. in Riviera Beach, FL with a "407" area code, so it must have been some time ago.

I live in NJ and all of the places want the old covers sent to them, so there's the cost of shipping, plus the time. I'd obviously prefer for them to be done quickly, but with good results.

Does anyone have any recommendations on vendor? Also, I was told by someone to get the gray or black covers instead of the "foil" because the foil breaks down after a while and gets sucked up into the engine air intakes.

I have them sitting in the back of my car, so the faster I get them out to someone, the faster I'll get them back on the boat.

Thank you for your help.

Marine Exhaust was in Riviera Beach a few years ago; they built me both turbo covers and a complete set of collectors for my 45 Hatteras.

Good people, quality work, done on time and on quote.

Marine Exhaust Systems apparently is a completely different company than Marine Exhaust Covers, Inc. Both are/were in Riviera Beach. I spoke with Craig this morning at Marine Exhaust Systems and they don't even make the "crossovers" anymore unless they have permanent insulation. They only make the blankets for the turbos and risers. I was not able to find a current phone number for Marine Exhaust Covers.

Larry,

I had the blankets made for my 671TIs about 3 years ago by a job shopper in Wantagh NY. He did a nice job and is used by local mechanics. I will email his tel to you tonight.

Metcalf Marine Exhaust or MMX did my blankets and the collectors on my boat. They have been great to work with and I would recomend them to anyone.

I don't know if you want a local company, but here is a link to a vendor out here in California. I have not used them or know how their pricing is... but I saw some of their work and it looked 1st class.......
