Im thinking of removing my tuna tower off my 60 Convertible. Is there a resell market for these or do I sell for scrap Aluminium? Thanks in advance.

I'm curious as well. You'd think a fishing boat would want a soaring, full tower. I can't imagine what a new one would cost?!

I'd hate to just cut it off at the bridge top and mount plates for a hardtop...seems like a waste.

Getting harder to crawl up there?

I have helped on a few conversions from a full tower to just a half tower.
This kept a cover over the fly-bridge but did away with all above.
Sadly, the removed tower tops were stripped and scrapped.

Mine is SO high, you can't talk to anyone on the bridge. I love it way up there, but sure don't want to leave the rest of the guests for long...because they'll break stuff.

Also makes going under fixed bridges easier.

For many years, my Brokerage was located at the east end of the island of North Bay Village (Grandview Palace Marina) in Miami which had a drawbridge with a height of 35’ (?) closed, so it was rare it needed to be opened as the Intracoastal (with all the traffic)was on the west end. Yet every day, twice a day some guy with a 42’ Hat with a full tower would require the bridge to open for him,( although it would had easily cleared if he had lowered his VHF antenna up there) causing traffic jams on the six lane causeway that took 30 minutes to clear each time as he idled to the sandbar MAYBE a mile from his house- and back. So selfish! Never once saw anyone up there!

Sounds like something I'd do.....after I retire.

by law, he is required to lower anything that can be lowered, outriggers, antennas, bimini top....i'm surprised in such a busy area the bridge tender didn't enforce these rules

If the bridge operator is a boater, they will open for a canoe.

If the bridge tender is (A*&^^), they make you lower everything and still try to fit those last questionable few inches.
I do believe, at the start of shift, some put Viagra in their coffee.
